Graphics
Plants vs. Zombies is not one of the most graphical excelling games but does do a nice job in the cartoon game industry.
Gameplay
Plants vs. Zombies is one of the most hilarious games I’ve played since a long time, and yet it is such a simple game that everyone ( young and old ) is able to have a great time playing. The goal of the game is to prevent the incoming zombies from eating your brains ^^. You can do this by placing all kind of plants in your garden to shoot down the zombies as hordes of them come in. There are different kinds of plants to protect you against different kinds of zombies which can come in strolling / swimming / flying. There are plants such as melon shooters, peashooters, needle shooters for the incoming zombies, but there are also weeds, spines and potato bombs for getting rid of those hard to kill zombies straight away.
Also the setting of the battlefield will take place on various locations which reach from a garden, to swimming pool and even the roof of the house!
UI
The game is totally user friendly and is explained so that even your 10 year old is able to understand. At the end of each level the game introduces a new kind of “defensive” plant and is explained right there. Also after a certain amount of levels, a mini-game is introduced to get out of the regular ol’ “ make sure zombies don’t eat your brain “ game and is certainly fun to play as they reach from “zombie Bowling” till whack-a-zombie.
Innovation
Plants vs. Zombies doesn’t bring anything new to the table, but doesn’t actually require something new to show that it is an amazing game. By the humorous zombie sounds and the storyline ( even though it’s rather short and not deep at all), it makes for a great game which anyone would want to play.
Verdict
Plants vs. Zombies is a funny yet tactical game which is really easy to understand and play. Also gameplay wise it’s well constructed as you can press to place and collect your “Sunpoints” easily throughout the game. Total game time would be around 10 to 15 hours and it is worth it! I give the game 4 out of 5 start!
